Qian Xudong is in charge of the work concerning credit system development, talent and sci-tech innovation, industrial economy, private economy, human resources and social security, administrative examination and approval, government affairs service administration, administrative transparency, information technology (big data management), market supervision and management (supervision and management of food and drugs, and intellectual property rights), etc.

He oversees the work of the Science and Technology Bureau, the Industry and Information Technology Bureau, the Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security (Human Resources Market), the Data Bureau (the Government Affairs Service Administration Office), the Market Supervision and Management Bureau (Intellectual Property Office), and Kunshan Industrial Technology Research Institute.

He is in charge of liaison with the Taiwan Affairs Office, the Association for Science and Technology, the General Labor Union,  the Federation of Industry and Commerce, Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, and Kunshan Salt Industry Co., Ltd.
