The First People's Hospital of Kunshan is a public Class-III B general hospital that integrates medical services, research, education, rehabilitation, and disease prevention and healthcare. Established in 1925, the hospital is affiliated to Jiangsu University as a branch school of clinical medicine in Kunshan. To date, it has received many honors, including the "Most Competitive Hospital of County and Prefectural Levels in China", "Model Organization in China's Health System", "National Demonstration Site in Hospital Affairs Transparency" and "National Model Hospital in (Health) Culture Development". The hospital has a staff of 1,860 people, including 1,790 professional and technical workers. It has 28 clinical departments, 33 wards and 7 medical laboratories. A number of disciplines (cardiovascular diseases, respiratory medicine, gynecology, general surgery, gastroenterology, nephrology, and infectious diseases) have been designated as key disciplines of Suzhou and 30 specialties (hepatobiliary surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, neurosurgery, spinal diseases, articular surgery, hand surgery, pediatric surgery, neurology, stomatology, pathology, oncology surgery, radiology, obstetrics, etc.) as key specialties of Kunshan. The First People's Hospital of Kunshan comprises three campuses, which cover a combined area about 80,000 sqm and a built area of 169,000 sqm. The hospital has set up 1,600 beds for patients. The headquarters is located at 91, Qianjin West Street, housing competitive departments of Emergency and Critical Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Geriatrics and physical examination as well as the facilities for medical services, education and research. The Youyi campus, also known as the "Kunshan Women and Children's Hospital", is at 5, Qingyang Middle Street. It is specialized in gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, pediatric surgery, nephrology, oncology, hemodialysis and physical examination. The Guangren campus is at 15, Weizhou Street in Zhoushi Town. As the center for medical observation and the central laboratory for infectious diseases, this branch specializes in treating hepatitis and tuberculosis. Besides these three campuses, there is also an Eastern Medical Center under construction in the Kunshan Economic & Technological Development Zone, which covers an area about 154,500 sqm, where there will be 1,200 beds available.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital of Kunshan, established in January, 1985, is a modern general hospital of Class-III B level which integrates medical services, education, research, rehabilitation, and disease prevention and healthcare. It is also an affiliated hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has been recognized as the National Civilized Organization for four consecutive years, in addition to a number of other honors such as "Model TCM Hospital in China", "Model Organization in China's Health System", "National Model TCM Hospital in IT-driven Development", "National Pilot Organization of Preventative Medicine", "National Pilot Organization of TCM Culture Development" and "Model Enterprising Organization in China's Health System". Located at 189, Chaoyang Street, the TCM Hospital of Kunshan covers approximately 22,134 sqm and a built area of 68,000 sqm. It is comprised of 28 clinical departments and 19 wards with the setup of 982 beds as well as 10 medical laboratories. It has 25 specialties and 35 diseases that have been respectively selected by local and higher health authorities as key and special ones. Among them, the spleen and stomach disease and hepatology is recognized as the Key Specialty (of TCM) by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the "Twelfth Five-year" Plan of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Jiangsu provincial government. Moreover, gynecology, orthopedics and traumatology, emergency department and oncology are recognized as the Key TCM Specialties of Jiangsu; the emergency department as part of Jiangsu's Capacity Development Project for Public Emergencies; and Zheng's Gynecology and Min's Traumatology as the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Suzhou.

The Second People's Hospital of Kunshan, established in 1958, is a general Class-II A hospital that specializes in oncology and breast diseases. Located at 142, Zhongshan Street in Kunshan, it has 365 beds and 40 clinical departments, many of which are officially recognized disciplines: gastroenterology is listed as a key discipline of Suzhou; urology surgery has been selected by Suzhou as a priority discipline for development. Disciplines that have been selected by Kunshan as key ones include gastroenterology, urology surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology and gynecology and obstetrics. The Discipline of Mammary Gland has been recognized a signature discipline in Kunshan. There are also several other traditional departments that enjoy a high reputation, including pediatrics, geriatric medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), TCM surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, Chinese massage and acupuncture and moxibustion physiotherapy.

The Third People's Hospital of Kunshan is a general Class-II B hospital located on two campuses. The main campus, located at 615, Zizhu Road in north Kunshan, covers about 18,000 sqm and a floor space of 32,256 sqm that house 300 beds. It has 19 clinical departments including gastroenterology, hematology, respiratory medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, neurosurgery, orthopedics, general surgery, stomatology, dermatology and department for brain diseases, as well as 8 medical laboratories, including clinical laboratory, ultrasonography, radiology and pathology. Among them, hematology and oncology are selected as key specialties of Suzhou; orthopedics, gastroenterology, gynecology and obstetrics, radiology and psychiatry are recognized as key specialties of Kunshan. The other campus, Kangle, is situated at 2155, Zuchongzhi Road in Bacheng Town. It is one of the most advanced psychiatric hospitals in Jiangsu province. It occupies an area around 20,000 sqm, with a floor space area of 23,000 sqm that house 350 beds.
